Funding extension announced

By April 29, 2022July 29th, 2022No Comments

After what has been a difficult nine months of retail trade this year, I am pleased to share with you that Federal Member for Fairfax Ted O’Brien announced on 28 April, 2022, the Federal Government has again answered our call for support with $426,000.

This funding arrangement extends support for an additional two years, after the original four year grant was set to expire in June this year. This new funding commitment brings the total funding secured for the organisation by Ted O’Brien to $1.3 million over six years.

This funding is significant and will assist us to continue to meet demand for our services over the next two years as we recover from COVID-19 and fully implement our redevelopment plans which are essential to our ongoing financially sustainability. The next two years were going to be a significant challenge in our budgets and we are truly grateful to Ted, as our Local Federal Member for Fairfax for understanding our challenge and securing the funding from the Australian Government for this extension funding.

Finally thank you to each an every one of our staff and volunteers. Each of you have contributed to the great work and reputation of Bloomhill which has allowed us to have the credibility for the Government to support this funding extension.

The Minister for Health paid respect to our entrepreneurial approach in his letter advising the funds would be provided.

Cancer diagnoses are continuing to rise, and so is demand for our community based, integrative cancer care.

It is our purpose and our passion to meet this demand, and we are now in a position to forge ahead plans to redevelop our property and expand our therapy rooms from 5 to 14, along with a host of initiatives to bring additional revenue including offering facials, massages and other health services to the public at market rates.

This is already helping subsidise care of cancer clients, and I would urge you to take advantage because the pamper sessions we offer are one-of-a-kind.

Please consider purchasing a raffle ticket as we are hoping this raffle will raise up to $90,000, helping us support 25% of our new clients each year through this activity alone.

Everyone who works and volunteers at Bloomhill are passionate about not only continuing to do what we do, but about helping more people touched by cancer as demand increases. And thank you to the Sunshine Coast and wider community for your ongoing support.
