Bloomhill is proudly part of the Leukaemia Foundation
Established in Queensland in 1975, the Leukaemia Foundation is Australia’s blood cancer charity, offering wraparound health services, funding leading-edge research and campaigning for change.
It has a strong focus on providing equitable access to cancer treatment and care, particularly for those living in regional, rural and remote Australia.
It may have ‘leukaemia’ in its name but the Leukaemia Foundation’s mission is centred around improving the lives of people with any type of blood cancer across Australia. With extensive support services and national reach the charity is also able to help people with any type of cancer, including through Bloomhill.
The Leukaemia Foundation’s highly-trained team deliver practical, emotional and psychological support services to more than 5,300 people with blood cancer each year, many from regional Australia including the Sunshine Coast.
It also provides accommodation in Brisbane and other major metro centres for regional cancer patients and carers who must travel to the city for medical treatment.
The Leukaemia Foundation is accredited against the National Safety and Quality Primary and Community Healthcare Standards.
Once separate organisations, Bloomhill became part of the Leukaemia Foundation in 2024. By combining resources, expertise and networks, together the brands are strongly addressing the rapidly evolving needs of the Sunshine Coast community and providing more comprehensive services, regardless of someone’s cancer type or postcode.
