Bloomhill Cancer Care can provide transport for to assist clients in accessing important medical or hospital appointments or to attend the Wellness Centre at Buderim.

Transport requests are considered based on urgency, client factors and availability of drivers and vehicles. Each transport request is considered important and is prioritised accordingly. Our professional team take all care to ensure that we provide appropriate support as per your request.

The Transport Services are continuously in high demand and receive an extraordinarily large number of requests each week. In order for us to continue to provide a high level of service and meet these high volume needs, a number of policies and procedures have been put into place, with which we would appreciate your cooperation.

To Register for Transport Assistance

To register for transport assistance please complete this form. Once registered, our team will contact you to arrange for your needs.

This form is to be used for clients requesting transport support only from Bloomhill Cancer Care, and who do not wish to access any other Bloomhill Services. If you decide later to access other Bloomhill services please call 07 5445 5794, Monday to Friday.

Notice required

While every effort will be made to assist with your transport needs, we are dependent on the availability of vehicles and volunteer drivers, and thus the following notice period applies:

  • Minimum – 2 working days. When requesting transport with Bloomhill Cancer Help, please contact the Volunteer Services Office at least 2 working days before your appointment.
  • Maximum – 3 weeks in advance. We are only able to take bookings a maximum of three weeks in advance.

Please note that if you are not able to give sufficient notice, we may not be able to assist with your request.

Before you call to book

Once registered,to book future transport assistance, you will need to provide the transport desk with the following details:

  • Your name and status eg. client, carer etc
  • Date of your appointment
  • Location of the appointment
  • Location of pick up and drop off
  • Type of appointment and expected length of appointment
  • Any other change in needs or details, etc

We would ask that prior to placing a request with the transport desk that you confirm your appointment, as we have limited capacity to accommodate any changes to prearranged bookings.

The driver has the right to refuse transport if there is a reasonable concerns that the transport service cannot be provided safely e.g. under the influence of recreational drugs or alcohol, insufficient mobility, aggressive, abusive or uncooperative behaviour, current weather warning that would make driving unsafe.
