Engaged, supportive and warm: Meet new social work Di

We warmly welcome Di Procter who has joined the Bloomhill team.

Di is an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker working both in the community sector and more recently in private practice.

She will now be working with Bloomhill on Thursdays and Fridays weekly, providing professional psychological and wellbeing services to Bloomhill clients.

Di has a Bachelor of Social Work and a Masters of Mental Health Practice.

Over the last 20 years, Di has been providing services that support a wide range of psychological, emotional, and social health concerns.

She applies an integrated model of therapy which involves an individualised approach aimed to best meet the needs of her clients.

When describing her approach, Di said:

“I have been described as a warm and engaging therapist.

My approach to therapy aims for people to feel both welcomed and supported throughout the therapy process.

My aim is to ensure the interventions provided are a good fit for each client.  I am trained and skilled in multiple models of therapy there for I draw on a wealth of skills and knowledge to inform my work.”

Throughout her professional career, Di has witnessed the benefits therapy provides when people are faced with difficulties.

“It is inspiring to be involved in a process that provides hope and increases resilience during challenging times.“

Di is looking forward to meeting and providing therapeutic services to clients, family members and others receiving services at Bloomhill.

Asked what she was looking forward to working at Bloomhill, she said:

“I am looking forward to getting to know the Bloomhill team in the upcoming weeks and learning more about the many cancer care services available to people in the community.”
