When Justin Pitts first connected with Bloomhill Cancer Care, he experienced firsthand the care and support available to people impacted by cancer. During that time, he shared a simple message — if there was ever a way he or the team at Cooke & Dowsett could help, we only needed to ask.

That opportunity came during the redevelopment of our Recreation and Wellness Studio.

Bloomhill faced a significant challenge when the plumbing component of the project exceeded the available budget by more than $75,000. The cost placed considerable pressure on the redevelopment and its future scope.

After reviewing the project, Justin and the Cooke & Dowsett team worked closely with Bloomhill to identify a practical and cost-effective solution. Through their expertise and commitment, they dramatically reduced the projected costs and helped keep the project moving forward.

Then, in an extraordinary act of generosity, Cooke & Dowsett donated the entire plumbing project in kind.

The team contributed more than $20,000 in labour, materials and expertise, often working outside normal business hours to help bring the vision to life.

Cooke & Dowsett’s contribution formed part of a broader community effort that transformed the space into the Bloomhill Recreation and Wellness Studio — a dedicated place where people impacted by cancer can access movement, wellbeing and connection in a supportive environment.
